Roles and permissions
Go to Settings → Staff. Your staff are listed there, with your roles next to them. Permissions are not set per person but per role — you create a Floor role and a Manager role once, and then assign people to them.
The standard roles are Owner, Manager and Staff, and you can add your own. As the owner you always hold every permission — you cannot switch that off for yourself by accident.
The permissions that matter in practice
- Edit orders — remove or cancel lines on an order.
- Process payments — settling bills.
- Process refunds and returns — issuing refunds. Without it the Refund button is disabled.
- Apply POS discount and Approve discount via PIN — who may give a discount, and who may approve it.
- Reprint receipts — printing a receipt again.
- Manage cash — opening and closing the drawer, cash in and cash out.
- Manage tables — reopening a bill, among other things.
- View reports and View revenue on dashboard — decide for yourself whether your floor staff see the day's revenue.
The staff PIN
Every staff member can be given a PIN of 4 to 6 digits, set on their profile.
That PIN is meant for approvals on the floor: a discount that needs approving, or a line that has to come off a saved table order. The manager enters their PIN on the floor staff's device, so nobody has to log out and back in. See Removing a product added by mistake.
Do not hand everyone manager rights just to avoid the hassle. That extra step is exactly what lets you see later who approved what.
