Splitting a bill: by item or by amount

Splitting happens in the payment screen

Open the table, tap to settle and choose Split. There are two ways to divide, and you can switch between them within the same bill.

By item

This is the default. You select per line how many units go into this payment — four beers out of eight, one of the two pizzas. The part amount follows automatically, so nobody has to do the maths.

Handy when guests pay for what they had themselves.

By amount

Switch to amount when someone says "just put twenty euros on it", or when the table wants to split evenly. The ÷2 through ÷5 buttons divide the outstanding amount into equal parts. The POS puts leftover cents on the first parts, so the total matches exactly and no cent goes missing.

How the payment runs

1. 1Choose what goes into this part payment (items or an amount).
2. 2Choose the payment method and settle it.
3. 3The part payment appears in the list and the outstanding amount goes down.
4. 4Repeat until nothing is left. The POS then closes the bill.

The amount still due stays visible at the top, so you can add another round in between without losing track.

Tips and change

Above the payment button are fixed tip buttons: No tip, 5%, 10% and 15% of the bill total, plus Other… for your own amount.

For cash you enter what the guest hands over; the POS works out the change and shows it large on screen.
